Applications for AMSI Winter School 2017 includes both the submission of the Application Form, as well as the School Fee payment via the QUT Pay payment gateway. Please note: Unsuccessful applications will be eligible for a full refund of the School Fees.
In addition, regional and/or interstate applicants from an AMSI Member Institution may also be eligible to apply for a Grant to assist with the costs of travel, accommodation and/or caring responsibilities to attend the school. READY TO APPLY?
The Application Form will take approx. 10-15 minutes to complete, and will ask applicants to answer a number of questions, including a requirement to supply the contact details of a ‘Referee’, who is able to comment on their research and/or academic experience. AMSI Winter School organisers must be able to contact this person (if required) to confirm the suitability of the applicant to the program, and/or discuss the applicant’s academic record.
The Application Form will also require the submission of the following Supporting Documentation:
- Letter of Support – from a current supervisor, honours coordinator, and/or head of school/department to support the attendance at AMSI Winter School 2017.
- One (1) Page CV – including a summary of research interests, activities and/or thesis topic.
Please note: Submission of an application does not guarantee a place at AMSI Winter School 2017. Please see information below regarding ‘Acceptance’.
Once you complete the Application Form you will be redirected to the Queensland University of Technology’s QUTPay payment page. Your application will not be completed until payment has been made. If your application is unsuccessful, a full refund of the School Fees will be provided.

Grant Application Form
The Grant Application Form will take approx. 5-10 minutes to complete, and will ask applicants to answer a number of questions, including 200 words of less (for each answer) on;
- Why they are attending and want to participate in the AMSI Winter School 2017 program,
- How participating in the program will benefit their skills, development and career, and
- Any other information that they think event organisers should know that is relevant to the grant application.
Applicants will be also asked to provide a Letter of Support from a current supervisor, honours coordinator, and/or head of school/department to support their application for funding to attend AMSI Winter School 2017.
Acceptance of AMSI Winter School 2017 applications is at the discretion of the Event Director, and applicants will be notified via email (to the address provided on the form) the outcome of their application to the School within 2 weeks of applications closing.
Applicants must confirm their acceptance of an offer, following the instructions provided in the notification email by the due date.
Any applicant who wishes to withdraw their application or attendee who wishes to withdraw from participating at AMSI Winter School 2017 must notify the AMSI Winter School 2017 Event Director via email at firstname.lastname@example.org
Refunds of the School Fee will be provided for withdrawals received up until 18 June 2017. Withdrawals after this time may not be eligible for a refund.
